Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role may contribute to:
Mathematical Chart & Diagram Analysis
- Review mathematical materials involving function plots, geometric figures, statistical charts, numerical diagrams, and visual problem setups
- Interpret mathematical visuals accurately and connect them to valid reasoning, assumptions, and problem requirements
- Identify visual inconsistencies, unclear diagram elements, missing information, and expected mathematical conclusions
- Support structured review of diagram-grounded and chart-grounded mathematical tasks
Problem Authoring & Reference Solutions
- Create original mathematics problems based on plots, diagrams, figures, charts, and technical visual materials
- Write clear reference solutions with step-by-step reasoning and rigorous mathematical justification
- Develop tasks across areas such as analysis, algebra, probability, combinatorics, numerical methods, applied mathematics, or related fields
- Ensure mathematical problems are precise, solvable, and aligned with source visuals
Annotation, Review & Quality Checks
- Annotate technical mathematics tasks according to structured review criteria
- Apply quality checks to assess correctness, clarity, rigor, and visual grounding
- Review solution paths, answer keys, diagrams, and problem statements for consistency and accuracy
- Maintain high standards for technical writing, mathematical reasoning, and task quality
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- Advanced background in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, mathematical education, contest coaching, research, tutoring, or technical problem writing
- Working fluency in at least two areas such as analysis, algebra, probability, combinatorics, numerical methods, or applied mathematics
- Comfort reading and interpreting function plots, geometric figures, statistical charts, mathematical diagrams, and visual data representations
- Strong ability to write clear, structured mathematical explanations
- High attention to detail and ability to evaluate reasoning step by step
- Ability to follow structured instructions and produce accurate technical work
Educational Background
- PhD in mathematics is helpful
- Master's degree in mathematics with teaching, research, tutoring, or applied experience is highly relevant
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics with substantial tutoring, contest coaching, applied math, or technical writing experience is also valuable
- Equivalent practical experience in mathematical problem design, chart analysis, or rigorous quantitative reasoning may also be relevant
Nice to Have
- Experience writing original math problems, contest-style tasks, benchmark questions, or technical educational materials
- Experience reviewing mathematical diagrams, function plots, geometry figures, probability charts, statistical graphics, or applied math visuals
- Familiarity with mathematical notation, LaTeX, solution writing, grading rubrics, or structured annotation workflows
- Teaching, tutoring, contest coaching, curriculum design, or assessment development experience
- Strong comfort working through detailed, visual, reasoning-heavy tasks with sustained focus
Why This Opportunity
- Apply mathematical reasoning and visual analysis expertise to structured remote project work
- Contribute to high-quality mathematics problem authoring, chart interpretation, and reference solution development
- Work on flexible part-time assignments aligned with your mathematical strengths
- Use your technical judgment in a rigorous, detail-oriented review environment
- Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation
