Job Description:
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in psychology, academic assessment design, question authoring, research methodology, psychological theory, and structured content review.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on high-quality psychology assessment development, multiple-choice question writing, academic content verification, reference solution review, and rigorous reasoning evaluation. Selected professionals will apply their psychology expertise to author, review, and validate challenging assessment materials across core psychology domains.
Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role may contribute to:
Psychology Question Authoring
- Create original, challenging multiple-choice questions across core psychology domains
- Design questions that test deep conceptual understanding, psychological reasoning, research methods, and applied interpretation
- Ensure each question is precise, self-contained, unambiguous, and answerable based on the information provided
- Develop plausible answer choices that challenge advanced learners and expert reviewers
Reasoning, Solution Writing & Difficulty Calibration
- Write clear reference solutions in structured markdown format
- Rate question difficulty across levels such as introductory undergraduate, advanced undergraduate, or postgraduate-level expertise
- Provide academic references from reputable sources such as peer-reviewed publications, university materials, or recognized scholarly resources
- Ensure solutions are accurate, concise, conceptually sound, and aligned with the intended psychological concept
Question Verification & Academic Review
- Review pre-written psychology questions for accuracy, clarity, rigor, completeness, and solvability
- Flag issues involving ambiguity, missing context, weak distractors, unclear wording, or incorrect answer logic
- Edit questions where needed and document the rationale for changes
- Maintain high standards for academic precision, research quality, and assessment reliability
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- Advanced expertise in psychology, clinical psychology, professional psychology, social psychology, behavioral psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, research methods, or related fields
- Strong command of graduate-level psychological theory, empirical literature, and research methodology
- Experience authoring, reviewing, teaching, grading, or verifying academic assessment content
- Ability to express complex psychological concepts clearly and concisely in written English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle conceptual, methodological, or reasoning issues
- Comfort working independently on asynchronous academic review tasks
Educational Background
- PhD, PsyD, or doctoral candidacy in psychology or a closely related field is highly relevant
- Master's degree may be suitable for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific psychology subdomain
- Equivalent experience in advanced research, teaching, clinical training, academic writing, assessment design, or scholarly review may also be valuable
Nice to Have
- Clinical licensure, research publications, university teaching experience, tutoring experience, or academic assessment background
- Familiarity with clinical psychology, professional psychology, social psychology, behavioral psychology, developmental psychology, psychological assessment, or research methodology
- Experience preparing or reviewing exam questions, benchmark tasks, academic rubrics, reference solutions, or psychology problem sets
- Strong comfort with markdown formatting, academic references, psychological terminology, and structured review workflows
- Availability for approximately 10+ hours per week depending on project needs
