Remote | Gastroenterology Clinical Review Expert — $175–$240/hour
Job Description:
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for physicians experienced in gastroenterology, digestive health, hepatology, endoscopic diagnostics, clinical data review, and structured medical annotation workflows.
This role supports current and upcoming consulting opportunities focused on gastroenterology-related clinical review, endoscopy report assessment, EHR note evaluation, diagnostic reasoning, treatment-plan validation, and specialty-specific medical data quality. Selected professionals will apply their clinical expertise to review realistic GI and hepatobiliary cases, evaluate medical outputs, prepare structured feedback, and support accurate, evidence-based clinical review workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role may contribute to:
Gastroenterology Clinical Data Review
- Review clinical narratives, EHR notes, endoscopy reports, imaging findings, and case materials related to gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
- Identify and validate diagnoses, diagnostic workups, procedural findings, treatment plans, outcomes, and relevant clinical context
- Support structured review of cases involving IBD, GI bleeding, liver disease, malignancies, pancreatic disorders, functional GI conditions, and post-procedural complications
- Identify missing clinical information, reasoning gaps, documentation issues, and expected specialty review outcomes
Guideline Alignment & Quality Validation
- Audit clinical datasets for medical accuracy, specialty relevance, and alignment with gastroenterology standards
- Evaluate clinical outputs against relevant guideline frameworks, including AGA, ACG, and AASLD standards where applicable
- Review AI-generated recommendations related to diagnostic evaluation, medical management, procedural interventions, and follow-up planning
- Prepare clear written explanations for clinical conclusions based on case facts, source materials, and evidence-based criteria
Annotation Standards & Medical AI Feedback
- Define or review annotation standards for complex gastroenterology and hepatology workflows
- Advise on taxonomy, edge cases, diagnostic nuance, procedural terminology, and specialty-specific clinical interpretation
- Provide structured feedback on clinical summaries, endoscopy interpretations, treatment suggestions, and patient-safety considerations
- Contribute to onboarding materials, review guidelines, and specialty-specific documentation standards
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- MD or DO with specialization in Gastroenterology
- Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Active U.S. medical license in good standing
- 5+ years of post-fellowship clinical experience
- Experience with endoscopy, inpatient consults, digestive health diagnostics, complex GI cases, hepatology, or related specialty workflows
- Strong familiarity with EHRs, endoscopy reporting systems, clinical terminology, and guideline-based clinical reasoning
- Clear written communication skills and strong attention to detail
Educational Background
- MD or DO degree is required
- Gastroenterology fellowship training is required
- Board certification, board eligibility, active licensure, academic appointment, teaching experience, publication record, or clinical leadership experience is highly relevant
Nice to Have
- Experience with complex GI or hepatology cases, including IBD, cirrhosis complications, GI bleeding, pancreatic disorders, malignancies, and post-procedural complications
- Familiarity with AGA, ACG, AASLD, endoscopy documentation standards, EHR review, clinical annotation, medical QA, or informatics workflows
- Experience preparing or reviewing endoscopy reports, consult notes, treatment plans, clinical summaries, specialty teaching cases, or guideline-based review materials
- Interest in medical AI, clinical informatics, diagnostic support tools, or healthcare data quality
- Availability for up to approximately 10 hours per week during active project periods

Contract Details
