Job Description:

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for legal professionals experienced in litigation, discovery workflows, legal research, privilege review, procedural analysis, and structured litigation documentation processes.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on structured litigation review, discovery workflow analysis, legal research assessment, procedural documentation, privilege classification, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their litigation expertise to review realistic disputes scenarios, evaluate legal documentation requirements, prepare structured written outputs, and support accurate, evidence-based litigation workflow tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

Discovery & Document Review

  • Review litigation scenarios involving document review, discovery responses, issue tagging, relevance review, privilege classification, and work-product considerations
  • Evaluate document coding decisions against source materials, defined review criteria, privilege rules, and documented case requirements
  • Support structured review of discovery responses, production materials, privilege logs, review decisions, and document classifications
  • Identify missing information, inconsistent coding, procedural gaps, and expected discovery review outcomes

Legal Research & Citation Review

  • Review legal research scenarios involving case law, statutory materials, procedural rules, legal holdings, and citation support
  • Evaluate research outputs against verifiable authorities, required citations, issue-specific criteria, and documented legal questions
  • Support cite-checking workflows using authority lists, research memos, legal databases, and source materials
  • Prepare clear written explanations for research and citation decisions based on provided materials and verifiable criteria

Procedural Analysis & Litigation Work Product

  • Review procedural scenarios involving deposition outlines, discovery deadlines, response timing, required topic lists, and civil procedure rules
  • Evaluate litigation materials against FRCP, state civil procedure requirements, privilege doctrine, procedural timelines, and case-specific instructions
  • Support structured review of deposition preparation materials, discovery-response timing, research memos, privilege logs, and litigation work product
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted work

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • JD with 3+ years of experience in litigation, disputes, legal research, discovery, eDiscovery, civil procedure, or related legal work
  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. state
  • Experience with one or more areas such as document review, privilege review, work-product analysis, discovery responses, deposition preparation, legal research, cite-checking, FRCP, state civil procedure, or litigation strategy support
  • Familiarity with tools such as Relativity, Everlaw, DISCO, Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, CaseMap, or similar litigation and legal research platforms
  • Comfort reading and preparing litigation artifacts such as review coding decisions, privilege logs, research memos, deposition outlines, discovery responses, authority lists, and procedural analyses
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to explain litigation reasoning clearly
  • Ability to follow structured instructions and produce evidence-based work

Educational Background

  • Juris Doctor degree is strongly preferred
  • Bar admission, legal research training, litigation practice experience, clerkship experience, or equivalent practical litigation background is highly relevant

Nice to Have

  • Experience in law firm litigation, in-house disputes, government litigation, eDiscovery, document review management, or complex civil litigation
  • Strong familiarity with FRCP, state civil procedure, privilege doctrine, work-product doctrine, discovery obligations, or deposition preparation
  • Experience preparing or reviewing privilege logs, research memos, discovery responses, deposition outlines, review protocols, or cite-checking materials
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms, litigation databases, legal research platforms, or document review workflows
  • Strong attention to detail in citation-heavy, procedure-heavy, and documentation-based legal work
